BAR HARBOR — St. Saviour’s Episcopal Church in Bar Harbor will present organist Kevin Birch in recital on Friday, Aug. 6, at 12:15 p.m.

St. Saviour’s Visser-Rowland tracker organ is known as one of the finest in the area. Tours of the historic church plus refreshments and a chance to meet the artist will follow the recital.

Birch, a graduate of New England Conservatory and the University of Iowa, serves as director of music at St. John’s Catholic Church in Bangor.

Birch is also a member of the music faculty at the University of Maine’s School of the Performing Arts in Orono. He has performed throughout the United States, Europe and in South America and earlier this summer performed a seven-city tour of Luxembourg and Germany.

Birch’s program will include works by Bach, Muffat, Rheinberger and de Lange.

The concert is made possible by the St. Saviour’s Friends of Music and the church is fully handicapped-accessible.

Admission is free, although donations will be accepted.
