BAR HARBOR — A subcommittee reviewing policies for the newly formed Mount Desert Island Regional School Board has recommended not adopting the Southwest Harbor School Committee’s policy allowing the child of a teacher living in another town and teaching at another school to attend the town’s K-8 school as a tuition student.

“We’re not inclined to adopt that policy,” said Brian Hubbell, chairman of the regional school board and member of the policy subcommittee. “There was no formal vote but that was certainly the consensus.”

The recommendation is to be considered at a meeting of the full board, scheduled for 6 p.m. Monday, Sept. 14, at Mount Desert Island High School.
